We’re excited to announce that a new SaveStation has been installed at the Wallace Recreation Area, providing 24/7 public access to an AED.

A big thank you to EHS for generously donating the SaveStation and AED. Working together, Emergency Health Services - EHS, the Wallace Volunteer Fire Department and the Wallace and Area Recreation committee we were able to make this important addition a reality.

This is a great example of community organizations working together to make Wallace a safer place for residents and visitors alike.

Thanks to everyone who supports the Nova Scotia Firefighters 50-50, the Wallace & District Volunteer Fire Department has purchased 4 Search and Rescue lifejackets and 4 inflatable lifejackets. These will improve firefighter safety during water rescues, training, and other incidents where working around water is required.

Every 50/50 ticket purchased helps volunteer fire departments across Nova Scotia invest in equipment that protects both firefighters and the communities they serve.

Every 50/50 ticket helps us invest in equipment that improves emergency response for our community.

Recent upgrades to our Rescue Van include a new rear air conditioning unit to keep the command area usable during increasingly hot summers, a Starlink satellite system to maintain communications during outages like Hurricane Fiona and in areas with little or no cell service, and a new iPad for navigation, incident management, and communication.
