Community Partners 🀝

The Chatham-Kent Police Service (CKPS) and St. Clair Catholic District School Board recently came together to highlight our ongoing partnership and shared commitment to keeping schools and the community safe.

Through this collaboration, CKPS used the former, vacant Georges P. Vanier Catholic School for Immediate Rapid Deployment (IRD) training from July 27 to July 31. This provincially mandated training was designed to ensure officers maintain the skills necessary to respond to critical incidents in schools and the community. Seven officers from Chatham-Kent and surrounding municipalities took part in the training throughout the week focused on emergency preparedness. Representatives from St. Clair Catholic also had the opportunity to witness some of the police training exercises.

β€œOpportunities like this are extremely valuable because they allow us to work together and learn firsthand from our community partners,” says St. Clair Catholic CEO and CEdO Lisa Demers. β€œWe are grateful for this continued collaboration and for the dedication of the Chatham-Kent Police Service to keeping our schools and community safe.”

The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to thank the St. Clair Catholic District School Board for their support in this public safety training. πŸ’™

Taking 'advantage' of summer learning!🎾

Students at Holy Trinity served up plenty of fun, skills and laughs during an afternoon of tennis.

Today marked the last day of our summer learning camps. Over the past three weeks, our students have worked on numeracy skills, participated in fun activities and met new friends. πŸ“šβž•πŸ€πŸ©·

Thanks to our students, staff and special partners who made summer learning a smashing success! β˜€οΈπŸ˜€

Learning from a pro! 🌟

The UCC girls rugby team recently had the incredible opportunity to take part in a clinic led by Team Canada Rugby Sevens player Breanne Nicholas. πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

The Blenheim native led players through stretches, drills and game play before wrapping up with a Q&A. πŸƒπŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ’ͺπŸ’¬

Nicholas is the most-capped women's sevens player in Canadian rugby history with 51 tournament appearances. She represented Canada at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and most recently helped the team capture a bronze medal at the HSBC SVNS World Championship in France. πŸ₯‰πŸ™Œ

It was an inspiring and memorable day filled with valuable lessons and plenty of fun. Thank you Breanne for sharing your time and experience with our UCC student-athletes! πŸ™πŸ’™

Prioritizing mental, physical and social health. 🧠πŸ’ͺ

St. Patrick’s Business Leadership class wrapped up their semester by presenting and reflecting on activities they led during the school's Wellness Week, held May 11–15.

Students across the school had the chance to participate in events organized by Mrs. Woodward’s Business Leadership class including multilingual prayers, yoga, rock painting, board games, a protein pancake breakfast, and positive post it notes.πŸ™πŸ§˜πŸŽ² 🎨

The activities encouraged students to take breaks from academic stress, connect with their peers, and learn positive wellness strategies.πŸ’š
