Economic Development Strategy Focus Groups Underway

We have had a busy and productive day gathering input for our community's economic development strategy. We started this morning with our Agriculture Focus Group and continued this afternoon with our Business Focus Group.

Both sessions brought out fantastic engagement, allowing us to take a deeper dive into our local successes, current challenges, and future opportunities.

The conversations centered on several key areas:
Workforce: Attracting, retaining, and developing talent.
Locations & Infrastructure: Ensuring the physical foundation is there for businesses to succeed.
Growth & Investment: Navigating future development and expansion.
Business Supports: Identifying the tools our local industries need to thrive.

If you were unable to attend the daytime sessions, you can still participate and share your perspective tonight:
Time: 6:00 PM
Location: ELCC Upper Arena Hall

We encourage all interested ag producers and business owners to attend and help shape our strategy moving forward.

Road Construction Notice: Nauvoo Road & Confederation Line

Expect heavy equipment and traffic changes starting this Monday, June 22, as the County of Lambton begins upgrading the intersection of Nauvoo Road and Confederation Line.

Phase 1 starts Monday with prep work to widen the curve east of Baile Realty. This work is being done specifically to ensure a temporary two-way lane remains available for local business access only.

Please plan your commute ahead for Phase 2: the intersection itself will completely close to all through traffic on Monday, June 29 at 7:00 AM and will remain closed until September 7. You will not be able to drive through the intersection to cross town.

Regional through traffic will be detoured entirely around the area via Kerwood Road, Calvert Road, and Courtright Line per the "Detour Plan.pdf". Local commuters should use alternate routes into Watford. All local businesses remain open and accessible, so please continue to support them by using the designated local access routes.

This is a County of Lambton project. Please direct all questions to the Lambton County Public Works team at 519-845-0801 or [email protected]. Live updates are available at www.municipal511.ca.

The Township of Warwick is pleased to be a recipient of the Community Emergency Preparedness Grant. These funds will be used to purchase reusable emergency signage and barricade trailers for use during emergency situations.

Thank you to MPP Steve Pinsonneault who met with Mayor Todd Case & staff this week to deliver the good news and investing in Warwick Township.

Keeping our communities safe starts with being prepared.

Our government is investing $18,000 in the Township of Warwick through the Community Emergency Preparedness Grant to help strengthen local emergency response capabilities.

Having experienced two major flooding events in recent years, Warwick understands the importance of being prepared when emergencies strike. I’m proud to see this investment helping strengthen the township’s emergency preparedness and resilience.

This funding will support the purchase of reusable emergency signage and barricade trailers, providing township staff with the tools they need to respond quickly to flooding, road closures, and other emergencies while helping keep residents safe.
