You may have heard of EMDR… but what does it actually do? 🤍
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process distressing or traumatic experiences that may still feel very present — even when they happened a long time ago.
Rather than erasing a memory, EMDR can help reduce the emotional intensity connected to it, so the past doesn’t continue to feel like it’s happening in the present.
EMDR may be helpful for trauma, PTSD, anxiety, distressing memories, triggers, and experiences that feel difficult to move through.
At Lindsay O’Neil Trauma Therapy, EMDR is offered by Nina Wallace, providing a supportive, trauma-informed space to process at a pace that feels manageable. 💜
Healing doesn’t mean forgetting what happened. It can mean remembering without feeling like you’re right back there.
