Happy Victoria Day!

With many enjoying the May long weekend, we wanted to reflect back to see how people in our township celebrated Victoria Day 100 years ago. Courtesy of the Maple Leaf Journal newspaper, it became clear that folks were disappointed by the lack of a holiday as described in the following poem:

“Twenty-fourth of May, The Queen’s birthday, If we don’t get a holiday, We’ll all run away.”

To learn more about them, please read our entry in this month's "Embracing Change" magazine.
