2026 ACADIAN GOLF TOURNAMENT SCHEDULED FOR SEPT. 19TH
To raise funds for participation in the 2027 Jeux de l’Acadie
STRATFORD – The 20th Acadian Golf Tournament, to be held on Saturday, Sept. 19, at Fox Meadow Golf Course in Stratford, will once again serve as a fundraiser to enable a delegation of more than 100 Island youth to participate in the 2027 Jeux de l’Acadie finals in Tracadie, New Brunswick, next June.
“This will be the first time since 2014 that our friendly golf tournament will be held on a Saturday, allowing both novice and experienced golfers to fully enjoy the day and relax, without the pressure of work the next day!” notes Jeannette Gallant, coordinator of the tournament and the PEI Regional Committee of Les Jeux de l’Acadie.
Raymond J. Arsenault, manager of the Acadian and Francophone Chamber of Commerce of PEI (the tournament’s partner organization), adds that planning for the event begins with securing hole sponsors (at $125 each), the tournament’s primary source of revenue. “All PEI businesses and organizations, both Francophone and Anglophone, are invited to sponsor this wonderful tournament to support our youth,” he emphasizes. “Your contribution will go a long way toward making this event another success.”
Anyone interested in sponsoring a hole, games, food, or prizes is asked to contact the coordinator as soon as possible at [email protected] or by phone at 902-439-2791.
TOURNAMENT DETAILS
Organizers are finalizing details for this year’s largest fundraiser for the PEI Regional Committee of Les Jeux de l’Acadie. Golfers will soon be invited to register for the tournament by contacting Gallant. The registration fee will remain $100 per golfer or $400 per team of four; payments are requested in advance via etransfer whenever possible. The registration fee covers an 18-hole round of golf, access to two golf carts per team, snacks, supper, on-course games, a few small gifts, and the chance to win competitive, participation, and door prizes.
