YAHU, Young Adults Helping You, is the youth philanthropy council associated with the West Vancouver Community Foundation. Our committee is dedicated to supporting the of youth in West Vancouver, by giving financial support, through grants, to youth-run and youth-led projects and initiatives in our committee. Funding for our grants is sourced from an endowment, for which we work to establish and m

aintain through fundraising. Our committee consists of students from West Vancouver's high schools, and our work is supported by West Vancouver Community Foundation directors and staff.

YAHU would like to congratulate our four grant recipient organizations for March 2013.

Canadian Cancer Society Club (West Vancouver Secondary School) - $170 - towards the purchase of banners and items for activity booths for a Relay For Life event to be held May 31st at the school
Environmental Production Network (West Vancouver Secondary School) - $150 - towards costs for PVC pipes and plastic sheets for the construction of a small greenhouse on school grounds
Recycling Club (West Vancouver Secondary School) - $180 - towards the purchase of sturdy plastic containers for expansion of the community battery recycling program
Youth Volunteer Organizational Committee (YouthVOC) - $200 - towards costs for holding next year's HEYDay event and promoting a new volunteer pool initiative.

The grant committee would like to thank all grant applicants for their excellent applications. Unfortunately, the amount of applications received was greater than our ability to distribute grants at this time, and we were not able to grant to all applicants.

We would like to wish all of our applicants the best of luck in running their programs, and thank them for all the hard work they do for youth in West Vancouver.
