This weeks "W**d of the Week" is Scentless Chamomile.

These flowers are easily confused with oxeye daisy but you can tell them apart by their leaves.

These plants can continue to flower and produce seed when removed from the soil. They need to be bagged.

The Westlock Economic Region is proud to recognize May 25 โ€“ 29, 2026 as Alberta Rural Health Week in the Town of Westlock, Westlock County, and the Village of Clyde.๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โš•๏ธ๐Ÿ‘จโ€โš•๏ธ

Rural healthcare professionals play an essential role in our communities through the care, commitment, and connection they provide every day. Beyond their work, many are also neighbors, volunteers, mentors, teachers, and active members of the communities they serve. We also recognize the volunteers and regional partners whose collaborative efforts help attract and retain healthcare professionals and keep care close to home.

This week, we thank the healthcare professionals and community champions who strengthen the health and well-being of our region every day.๐Ÿ’ช

This weeks "W**d of the Week" is Tall Buttercup.

This noxious w**d contains bitter juice, which causes blistering of the mouth and digestive system when consumed by livestock. It should not be grazed as it is toxic.

Use herbicides registered to control. A close mowing during early bloom and again during late summer will keep this w**d under control.
