🚧 SaskPower is completing upgrades in several areas of throughout October.

Work will affect areas near:
- Ash Dr., Duke St. and Windsor St.
- 18th St. and Clarke Ave.
- 3rd/2nd St. downtown
- 1st. Ave (between 5th St. and Windsor St.)

Residents may experience temporary back alley closures and disruptions to vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Please use caution around work areas and follow posted signage.

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, City Council meets tonight, Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 6 p.m.

On the agenda:
- Proposed policies for decorative crosswalks, proclamations and flag protocols
- Council approval to pursue funding through the Urban Highway Connector Program for improvements to 1st Ave. N (Hwy 13)
- 2nd and 3rd readings of the Refuse Bylaw and Rural Fire and Rescue Bylaw

Great neighbourhoods are a shared effort! The City of Public Works, Parks and Bylaw Enforcement are working together to improve our back alleys and residents have an important role to play:

Regular maintenance, including grading, helps keep Weyburn's back alleys in good condition. But for City crews to complete this work safely and efficiently, they need enough room to operate equipment without obstructions.

Overhanging trees and branches can restrict access for maintenance equipment, making it difficult for crews to complete their work.

🌳 Residents can help by trimming trees on their property that extend into the back alley.

We're making cultural and recreation opportunities more accessible by removing the barrier of added admission cost for support persons.

This initiative helps more people enjoy the programs, activities and opportunities available at the Credit Union and Weyburn Leisure Centre.

👨‍👧‍👦Tot time/family skating is tailored towards getting the little ones on the ice.
✖️During public skating, sticks and pucks are NOT allowed.
✅Stick and puck time helmets are mandatory.

It’s Fire Prevention Week! 🔥🔋

This year’s theme, Charge into Fire Safety™: Safe Charging Is a Superpower, is focused on simple steps everyone can take to help prevent lithium-ion battery fires.

The Weyburn Fire Department will be visiting local schools this week to share important fire prevention and safety messages with students.

Also, follow Weyburn Fire Rescue to meet some of the firefighters who serve our community. 🚒
