The 2026 Great Toad Migration is well underway at Lost Lake Park. Western Toads are emerging from the lake and making their way into the surrounding forest.

Western Toads play an important role in our environment and are considered a key indicator species, helping us understand the overall health of Whistler's ecosystems.

As thousands of tiny toadlets begin their journey, we all have a role to play in keeping them safe:

🐸 Beachcut Trail is closed, with detour signs in place.
🐸 A small section of the Nature Trail on the west side of Lost Lake is closed.
🐸 Please slow down and walk your bike along Lost Lake Trail, as toadlets are crossing the main pathway.
🐸 If you're visiting Barking Bay, watch your step. There are lots of toadlets in the area.

Add your voice to Whistler’s 2026 Official Community Plan (OCP) amendment project.

We are considering updates to Whistler’s OCP to help address the community’s ongoing shortage of employee housing.

We want to hear your thoughts on the proposed amendments that will support new employee housing initiatives, facilitate the implementation of the Whistler Creek West Neighbourhood Plan, and enable potential employee housing on three municipal land parcels in Cheakamus Crossing.

This is a plan for our community. Many steps occur between this plan and future development.

Add your voice to the discussion through an online survey. Your feedback will be considered as part of Council’s decision-making process.

A larger reassessment of our OCP, including the vision and values we want for our community, will be initiated in the next two years.

The survey takes 5 to 7 minutes and runs until September 14 ➑️ https://bit.ly/44MbEpU
