🚨 Keep Your Home Safe – Check Your Smoke Alarms Today! 🚨

Working smoke alarms are essential for protecting your home and loved ones. Did you know they reduce the risk of fire-related deaths by 50%? Here’s how to keep them working:
☑️ Test monthly – Press the test button monthly.
☑️ Change batteries annually or when the alarm chirps.
☑️ Replace alarms every 10 years from date of manufacture. That even means hardwired smoke alarms.

It’s the law to have smoke alarms on every level of the home and outside sleeping areas. 🏠

⛔ Slippery stream banks & Lake Ontario shorelines
These conditions make these areas extremely hazardous. Please stay safe, and remind children of the risks!

The Modofo Tool 5-in-1 Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector has been recalled due to a potential failure to operate and lack of a recognized Canadian certification mark.

In Whitby, we’ve found several homes with these devices installed. Alarms without Canadian certification may fail to alert you during a fire.

✅ What you should do:
Check your alarms today and replace any uncertified devices with ones that have a ULC or CSA certification mark.
