πŸš’ Celebrating 175 Years of Whitby Fire! πŸš’

As we celebrate 175 years of service to our community, we’re looking back at the people, milestones, and innovations that have shaped the proud history of Whitby Fire.

πŸ”₯ Did You Know? In 1926, the Whitby Fire Department modernized its fleet with the purchase of two new fire trucks: a Gotfredson Pumper and a Chevrolet Chemical. These vehicles replaced the Merryweather Steam Fire Engine, marking an important step forward in firefighting technology and emergency response for our community.

Join us as we continue to honour the legacy, dedication, and courage of those who have served Whitby over the past 175 years.

NOTICE: Waterfront Trail Closure
A small section of the Waterfront Trail through Lynde Shores Conservation Area is planned to be closed on Tuesday (September 1) to re-pave several metres of path that was disturbed during the installation of an overflow spillway.

The Waterfront Trail is shown in pink on the map. Please follow the re-route indicated with red lines on the map. Signage will be posted on-site.

When water levels are high, this spillway will allow for drainage from the new wetland complex into the Shisko Wetland, which is connected to the Lynde Creek Wetland and Lake Ontario. Learn More: https://www.cloca.com/lynde-shores-restoration
