Our town has a long history of athletic excellence, and the Whitby Sports Hall of Fame does important work by making sure these accomplishments are preserved and celebrated.

It was an honour to attend this evening's induction ceremony and celebrate the incredible accomplishments of Eric Perroni, Delmer Rints, and the 2001 Anderson CVI Senior Boys Volleyball Team.

This paragraph below was said by councillor Niki Lundquist earlier tonight. I fully agree with it all. I think those that are in it for the own self interests, or any other self serving reasons are not what residents need or deserve.

“People are starting to announce their intentions with respect to the municipal election. If you genuinely care about good decision making, and supporting people who take on this work, not out of self-interest but out of love for community, please show up for those you support. Make donations to campaigns (once the campaign period opens) talk to your neighbours about why municipal elections matter and why you're supporting a candidate, knock on doors, put up signs or just commit to voting. Our communities need all of us to care just a little more.”

The Town of Whitby - Local Government ,MPP Lorne Coe and MPP Todd McCarthy made an important infrastructure funding announcement in Brooklin this afternoon (Columbus Road).

This project is essential for the preparation of the anticipated growth in our Town. Whitby’s population is expected to increase to 190,000 by 2031.

📢 Big moves are happening in North Whitby!

After months of behind-the-scenes work, construction is entering the next phase on Columbus Road, bringing us closer to a wider and more connected route for our growing community. 🚧

Mayor Elizabeth Roy joined funding partners from the Province and Elexicon Energy on site to mark the milestone as the project transitions into active road construction.

Stay tuned for updates — and what to expect as work continues along the corridor!
