We are a community rich in heritage and character and we are committed to offering our residents and businesses a ‘Country Close to the City’. Whitchurch-Stouffville Town Council meets on the second and fourth Tuesda

y of each month (schedule is subject to change). All Council meetings are held in the Municipal Offices, Council Chambers. Meetings are open to the public and residents are encouraged to attend and participate. A schedule of meetings can be found on our website. In addition to regular Council meetings, a number of other meetings are held in the Council Chambers including Public Information Centres and Public Planning Meetings. Whitchurch-Stouffville's Municipal Offices not only serves as a government function, but also offers a variety of services such as marriage licenses/ceremonies, pet licensing, recreation programs, facilities and more.

The Fire Hall Open House is an action-packed day, with the popular burn demonstration taking place at 11:30 a.m.

There are activities and entertainment for all ages, including games, prizes, a BBQ lunch, refreshments, and an ice cream truck!

Plus, you can meet Sparky the Fire Dog - he'll be roaming the event all day long!

*Extra Parking available at Stouffville District Secondary School*

Back-to-school season is here! As students return to class, please add these important safety reminders back into your weekday routine when travelling to and from school and through school zones:

🚸 Reduce your speed and be prepared to yield to pedestrians.
🛑 Obey crossing guards and all traffic signals.
🚌 Stop for school buses and watch for children who may cross unexpectedly in front of or behind buses.
🚶 Make yourself visible to drivers and clearly indicate your intention to cross.
📵 Avoid distractions such as calling, texting, listening to music, or using mobile devices while crossing the road.
👀 Stay alert and watch and listen for traffic in all directions.
👟 Dismount from bikes, scooters, or skateboards and walk across the street.

Planning a visit to Vandorf Park? There is currently some construction work being done on the east side of the park at Woodbine Avenue.

As a result, the walkway and northern bridge leading to the Museum are temporarily closed. Work is expected to be completed by mid-October.

To serve you better, select areas of the Leisure Centre will be closed for annual maintenance of the Fitness Centre, Pool, and Gymnasium. Other on-site amenities remain open and operational.

👟 Fitness Centre closed: Tuesday September 1 – Friday September 4, 2026
*Group Fitness & Cycle Fit classes are still available!
🏸 Gymnasium closed: Monday September 7 – Tuesday September 15, 2026
🥽 Pool closed: Monday September 7 – Thursday September 24, 2026

*Note: During this time, the aquatic change rooms will be available to Group Fitness & Cycle Fit participants.

Road Closure Reminder! 🚧

Burkholder St. will be closed between Park Dr. and the Leisure Centre Driveway (2 Park Dr.) every weekend from Friday, May 1 to Monday, September 28.

📅Closures Times: Fridays at 3:30 PM to Mondays at 8 AM (or Tuesdays on long weekends).

Please plan your route accordingly, and thank you for your cooperation, Stouffville!
