Hello everyone:
The Yukon African Music Festival 2026 was a resounding success, attracting over 700 attendees across two days. We sincerely thank the Yukon community for its outstanding support, as well as our local, national, and international artists, dedicated volunteers, photographers and videographers, technical abd production team, sponsors, partners, media, and everyone who helped make this the largest African cultural festival in Northern Canada and a truly memorable event.
The exceptional quality of the music, decorations, crafts, food, and overall experience reflects our commitment to delivering high-caliber cultural events. We were honored to present multi-award-winning and Juno-winning artists who shared the richness of African culture with the Yukon community.
We were happy to welcome special guests like First Nations Elders, Minister Sarai (Canada’s Secretary of State and Minister for International Development), the Mayor of Whitehorse, the Member of Parliament for Yukon, many Yukoners, community leaders, and visitors from around the world. The event was also broadcast live on the radio.
Before the festival, we visited four schools over two days and reached more than 1,500 students and teachers. We shared music, held workshops, and gave talks about Black History Month and International Development Week.
We hope you enjoy the photos and videos. On behalf of TELIYA International Society and the Yukon African Music Festival team, thank you again for making this festival unforgettable.
