The Fall Sitting of the Yukon Legislative Assembly starts next week. This sitting, the Government of Yukon will release a Fall Capital Estimates for the next fiscal year (April 2027 – March 2028).

These will cover a limited group of capital projects that could take advantage of
* longer lead times
* earlier tendering and contracting
* time-sensitive funding

The Yukon has a short construction season. By approving some capital projects in the fall, the Government of Yukon and businesses will have more time for planning, design, permitting, procurement and construction.

Families in Dawson will have access to more universal child care spaces now that construction of the new Big Blue Daycare has been funded with over $2.7M from the Yukon’s Early Learning and Child Care Infrastructure Fund, which is supported by the Government of Canada under the Canada – Yukon Early Learning and Child Care Infrastructure Fund Agreement.
