Thank you to everyone who came out to help us celebrate the Tourism Discovery Centre’s 20th Anniversary! 💛

It was wonderful to see familiar faces, share stories and memories, and celebrate 20 years of welcoming visitors to Williams Lake and the Cariboo Chilcotin.

Over those 20 years, we estimate that more than half a million visitors have walked through our doors — looking for directions, recommendations, local stories, hidden gems and a warm Williams Lake welcome.

A special thank you to Mayor Surinderpal Rathor and Councillor Scott Nelson, who stopped by and each shared a little of the story behind the building and how the Tourism Discovery Centre came to be. It was a wonderful reminder of just how much history is tied to this beautiful building and the people who helped make it a reality.

We may not have taken many photos — we were too busy visiting! — but we are so grateful to everyone who stopped by, enjoyed some refreshments and cake, and helped make the day special.

Here’s to 20 years of memories, community connections and helping people discover everything our beautiful region has to offer — and to many more years ahead!

🍂 Fall is almost officially here to show off at Chimney Lake!

The colours are starting to change, the air has that crisp fall feeling, and a walk along the shoreline might even give you a glimpse of the kokanee turning their brilliant spawning red.

Make a day of it — wander the lakeshore, take in the fall scenery, pack a picnic, or squeeze in a round at Fireman’s Fairway, the community’s 11-hole, par-3 golf course.

And before you head home, stop by the Felker Lake Store and grab a frozen dinner, a few locally made goodies, or something tasty for the drive home.

Sometimes the best fall adventures are the simple ones — a scenic drive, colourful leaves, a quiet lake and a few local stops along the way.
