June marks National Indigenous History Month – a time to celebrate, reflect, and deepen our understanding of the rich histories, diverse cultures, and enduring contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples across Canada.
It is also a time to reflect on the realities Indigenous Peoples have endured and the truths that still demand our attention. It’s a chance to deepen our understanding of Indigenous Peoples by learning about their histories, ways of life and the lived realities that continue to shape this land.
By acknowledging our shared history and deepening our understanding, we build upon our work towards reconciliation and support the preservation of Indigenous culture, traditions and languages.

BCAA's Fireweed Pin is a powerful way to show your support for communities across BC affected by wildfires, and to contribute towards their recovery and resilience. We are grateful to be one of the recipients of proceeds from the Fireweed Pin, helping us support communities affected by wildfires through preparation, coping, recovery, and rebuilding.

Learn more about the Fireweed Pin; the Coast Salish artist of the Quw’utsun Tribes, Charlene Johnny, who created the pin in collaboration with BCAA; and where you can purchase a Fireweed Pin: https://buff.ly/1ydCu0J

Thank you to BCAA for their generosity and support 💗

Congratulations, Brittenay!

We are so grateful that you chose us to be your practicum placement. Your passion, commitment, and empathy for the community support work we deliver at our organization were noticed and truly appreciated.

From all of us at CMHA-CC, we wish you all the best in your future endeavors! 🎓🌟

Everyone has one friend who’s ready for anything, and at the Williams Lake campus, that's valedictorian Brittenay Wolf!

A graduate of the Education Assistant and Community Support Certificate, she earned the nickname “University Mom” from her classmates. She was always there to offer a ride, help with last-minute printing and laminating, and even provide extra art supplies.

While maintaining a 4.33 GPA, she completed a practicum at CMHA Cariboo Chilcotin and worked across multiple roles supporting individuals and families.

Join us by congratulating her in the comments.
