An Evacuation Alert means be ready to leave on short notice and take the following steps:

Gather your grab-and-go bags, emergency plan, copies of important documents and mementos ✔️

Reach out to your friends and loved ones to see if they can offer you a place to stay in case of an Evacuation Order. Also check your insurance coverage as many policies cover evacuation-related living expenses ✔️

Stay tuned to official sources of information, as well as EmergencyInfoBC for emergency info ✔️

As wildfire activity increases, people across the province are urged to pre-register with Emergency Support Services to reduce wait times at evacuee reception centres and ensure supports are delivered quickly.

Learn more and create an ESS profile at ess.gov.bc.ca

Reminder: Homeowner or tenant insurance is likely to provide greater support than ESS. Check your coverage or talk to an insurance provider today: Insurance Bureau of Canada
