ATV Safety Week: Group Ride Protocol
Riding with friends can turn a great day on the trails into something unforgettable—but only when everyone rides smart.
Group rides come with added responsibility. Following a few simple protocols helps ensure everyone gets out—and back—safely.
👉 Key reminders for every group ride:
• Ride with headlights on for visibility
• No impairment—ever (alcohol, drugs, or fatigue)
• Ride for the person behind you—not just yourself
• Keep safe spacing—don’t crowd the rider ahead
• Don’t ride beyond your skill level
• Communicate clearly—hand signals matter
• Let your group know if you’re leaving the ride
Most importantly…
Ride your own ride.
There’s no pressure to keep up—safe riding is smart riding.
Because the goal of every group ride is simple:
👉 Everyone rides together. Everyone gets home together.

Yesterday, Nation Valley ATV Club had the pleasure of joining Thousand Islands ATV Club for their season opener ride to assist them with wardening. TIATVC showcased some new trail additions (that you need to go and check out), and had a great turn out for the event! Great work Thousand Islands ATV Club!

Ride Responsibly This Spring
Spring riding season is here, and with warmer weather comes increased activity from ticks, invasive plants, insects, and trail hazards across Ontario. Riders are encouraged to stay alert on the trails and check themselves, their gear, and their machines after every ride.

👀 Watch for:
• Spongy Moth Caterpillars
• Garlic Mustard
• Ticks
• Dead or Dying Ash Trees

ATVs can unintentionally carry mud, seeds, insects, and debris from one trail system to another. Taking a few minutes to clean your machine after every ride helps protect the trails we all enjoy.

✅ Remove mud and debris
✅ Inspect your gear and trailer
✅ Check yourself and pets for ticks
✅ Help stop the spread of invasive species
✅ Report trail hazards when you see them

Together, we can help keep Ontario’s trails healthy, safe, and open for future generations.

Before you ride, always check QuadON for trail status updates and local information.

Our Volunteers for the month of March are Chris and Pam Bullard.

Pam does a great job as our Sponsorship Coordinator, helping support the club, and Chris puts in time as a warden and they are both there to help out at events. Chris and Pam have also been dedicated to bringing positive exposure to our communities by entering into many different parades and trade shows. Together, they’re a big part of what keeps the club running smoothly.

We really appreciate everything you both do and the time you put in. Thanks Chris and Pam!
