🚧 GFL West Hants Landfill Public Drop-Off Area Temporary Closure Notice 🚧

Please be advised that the GFL West Hants Landfill public drop-off area will be closed from September 14 to September 30, 2026, for renovations and facility improvements. The Household Hazardous Waste drop-off area will remain open.

Residents are encouraged to plan ahead, as there will be no alternative disposal options available at the site during this closure period.

Free Lead & Copper Water Testing for West Hants Water Utility Users! 🚰

Want to learn more about the quality of your drinking water? West Hants Regional Municipality is continuing to offer free lead and copper testing this September!

📅 Bottle Drop-Off Dates: September 21 & September 28
🧪 Sample bottles will be provided on your selected date and collected the following day.
📋 Easy-to-follow sampling instructions will be included.

As an added bonus, all residents who complete the testing will be entered for a chance to win a $50 local gift card!

Help us better understand water quality in our community while getting valuable information about your home's water.

Parking Changes
Effective today, August 27, parking is prohibited on Albert Street between King Street and Wiley Avenue from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Parking regulations on the opposite side of the street remain unchanged (no parking).

If your waste is not collected today, please have it curbside by 7am tomorrow morning (August 21st).
