Pedestrian critically injured in vehicle collision

The Windsor Police Service is investigating a serious motor vehicle collision that left a pedestrian with life-threatening injuries.

On June 14, 2026, at approximately 2:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of a vehicle collision in the 1100 block of Ouellette Avenue. A preliminary investigation determined that a 40-year-old woman was crossing the street mid-block when she was struck by an oncoming vehicle.

Following the collision, the driver exited his vehicle and was subsequently assaulted by a man who had been accompanying the pedestrian.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital, where she remains in critical condition. The driver was also treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Ouellette Avenue remains closed in both directions between Giles Boulevard and Pine Street while members of the Windsor Police Service Traffic Reconstruction Unit conduct their investigation. Motorists are asked to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who witnessed the collision or has information or video footage is asked to contact the Windsor Police Service Traffic Enforcement Unit at 519-255-6700, ext. 7032. Man charged with sexual assault of a child

The Windsor Police Service has charged a 32-year-old man following an investigation into the sexual assault of a child.

On June 9, 2026, members of the Windsor Police Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit (CASA) launched an investigation after receiving a report of historical sexual assaults involving a child victim.

Through the investigation, officers determined that the suspect, who was known to the victim, had sexually assaulted the child on multiple occasions.

On June 11, members of the Windsor Police Problem-Oriented Policing Unit located and arrested the suspect at a residence in east Windsor.

Samuel Oldridge-Atkinson has been charged with 12 criminal offences, including four counts each of sexual assault, sexual interference, and invitation to sexual touching.

Three charged in violent assault

The Windsor Police Service has charged three individuals in connection with a targeted assault that left a man with life-threatening injuries.

Shortly after 7 a.m. on June 8, 2026, officers responded to a report of an assault in an alleyway in the 1100 block of Marion Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located a 44-year-old male suffering from serious injuries.

Through investigation, officers learned that the victim had arranged to meet a female acquaintance at a residential garage. Shortly after she arrived, two male suspects forcibly entered the garage and repeatedly struck the victim with a baseball bat.

A neighbour witnessed the incident and pursued one of the suspects on foot. The remaining male suspect and the female suspect fled the scene in a vehicle. During their escape, the female suspect struck the resident with the vehicle before fleeing the area.

The victim was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the neighbour sustained minor injuries.

Members of the Major Crimes Unit launched an investigation and quickly identified the three suspects involved in the targeted attack.

On June 9 , members of the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Unit located and arrested two of the suspects in a parking lot in Strathroy, Ontario.

Amanda Kathleen Dubrovay 34, is charged with:
• Aggravated assault
• Assault with a weapon
• Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
• Failure to stop after an accident

Lee Parker Baigent, 39, is charged with:
• Aggravated assault
• Assault with a weapon
• Failure to comply with a release order

The following day, Connor St. Amour 31, turned himself in at Windsor Police headquarters. He has been charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.

On behalf of the Windsor Police Service Board, we are pleased to announce that Kenneth Cribley has been appointed permanent Deputy Chief of Operations.

Deputy Chief Cribley brings more than 32 years of policing experience to the role, with a strong background in operational, investigative, and administrative leadership.

Most recently, he served as Inspector of the Professional Standards Branch.

His appointment will take effect June 22, 2026.
