We knew the Ed Jovanovski Charity Golf Classic team would be coming by our office this morning to present us with the cheque from their tournament... what we didn't know is that they were surprising us with an ADDITIONAL $15,000! This brought their donated total from $60,000 to an astonishing $75,000!

Their team has worked tirelessly over the last 8 years to make this event such a success, and we are deeply grateful for all that you have done for us and our community. 💙💙💙

During our Matching Gift Campaign, when you donate to the Alzheimer Society of Windsor and Essex County, any amount given is generously matched (up to $75,000) by Ground Effects LTD and The Scott Family Foundation.

Today, Mrs. Janet Menard personally delivered TWO cheques to our office: one for $1,500 from Onfreight Logistics and one from herself for $1000, totaling $2,500 donated! We were completely blown away by their kindness. Their generous donations will now be DOUBLED and all funds will go directly back into our programs and services to better serve our community.

With an estimated 9,100 people living with dementia in Windsor-Essex—and that number steadily rising—this campaign directly supports urgently needed local programs including the adult day program, respite services, caregiver support, and education and outreach.

“The need is growing fast, and the time to act is now,” said Manager of Philanthropy, Tara McBride. “We’re calling on the generosity of Windsor-Essex to help us cross the finish line and ensure families get the care and support they deserve.”

Creative ways to give include:
• Office fundraisers like jeans days, bake sales or donation jars
• Matching staff donations through your business or organization
• Sharing the campaign on social media to inspire others to give

No gift is too small—$10 becomes $20, $250 becomes $500, and it all adds up to life-changing impact for local families. The campaign will culminate at the annual World Alzheimer’s Day Breakfast on Friday, September 18 at Willistead Manor, where the final fundraising total will be revealed.

Caring for someone with dementia is a 24/7 job that rarely comes with time off or breaks. The Alzheimer Society of Windsor and Essex County offers respite care 7 days a week to provide caregivers with a few hours to rest, relax, or, in many cases, free up a few hours to ‘get things done’.

During the CaregiverRx Matching Gift Campaign, your donation can provide twice as many respite hours and help deliver these wonderful people some much-needed relief.

Getting a day off to take a break to rest and relax is a common luxury for many people. For families who are living with dementia there is no day off from dementia. But with the help from their community, families living with dementia can get a much needed break.

From June 23 to September 18, your donations are generously matched by Ground Effects LTD and The Scott Family Foundation.

These funds will go directly toward supporting local caregivers and families living with dementia—providing respite, counselling, education, and so much more.
