TENDER SALE

2009 Ford Expedition
5.4L engine
260,000 km (approx.)

Not safetied and unknown what would be required to pass safety
Interior has extensive wear
Some rust shown in pictures
Wiring for police equipment may have been cut and still remain in the vehicle
Holes remain in roof where police equipment was mounted

Vehicle is not currently insured and cannot be test driven. Engine uses some oil and the transmission likes to think for a bit before moving.

Successful bidder will be issued a Bill of Sale only. A Transfer of Ownership Document will be provided upon proof the doors have been painted black.

Tender submissions must include:
-Bidder’s full name
-Contact information
-Bid amount

Sealed bids should be dropped off at the City of Winkler administration office with "Tender Sale" on the envelope. Tenders must be received no later than 12:00 p.m. on September 25th.The highest or any tender may not necessarily be accepted.

Today, the Winkler Police Service proudly recognizes National Women in Policing Day and honours the incredible women who serve their communities with courage, strength, compassion, and pride.

We celebrate the women who put on their uniforms and wear their badges proudly each day, dedicating themselves to protecting and serving others. We also recognize the many women who work behind the scenes in policing, whose commitment, knowledge, hard work, and support help keep police services running every day.

A very special shout-out goes to our own female members, Constable M. Goertzen and Constable K. Neufeld. We are incredibly proud of the hard work you do each and every day and the honour, professionalism, and commitment with which you wear your badges and serve our community.

We are also fortunate to have an all-female administrative team working behind the scenes. Their dedication and hard work are an essential part of our service, helping keep everything running smoothly and supporting our members and our community every day.

These women are colleagues, leaders, mentors, role models, and an inspiration to many — but perhaps most importantly, they are an example for young women and girls who can look up to them and see what is possible.

You can wear the badge. You can lead. You can serve. You can make a difference.

Today, we honour the women who paved the way, the women who proudly serve today, and the young women who may one day follow in their footsteps.

With students heading back to school, the Winkler Police Service would like to remind motorists to use extra caution on our roadways.

School zones, crosswalks and surrounding streets will once again be busy with children walking, biking and being dropped off or picked up. Drivers are reminded to remain alert, reduce their speed and always obey posted speed limits, particularly in school zones.

Please remember:

• Slow down and obey all posted speed limits in school zones.
• Watch carefully for children at crosswalks, intersections and between parked vehicles.
• Be prepared to stop for school buses and students entering or exiting them.
• Avoid distractions and keep your full attention on the road.
• Allow yourself extra time during the busy morning and afternoon school hours.

Children may not always be aware of approaching vehicles or make predictable decisions near the roadway. As drivers, it is our responsibility to remain vigilant and prepared to stop.

A few extra seconds can make a significant difference.
