SCHOOL ZONES ARE BACK IN EFFECT SEPTEMBER 1

With students heading back to school, drivers are reminded that Manitoba school zone speed limits come back into effect on September 1.

Slow down to 30 km/h in designated school zones.
Watch carefully for children walking, biking, or crossing the street.
Be prepared to stop at crosswalks and pedestrian crossings.
Stay focused and avoid distractions behind the wheel.
Use extra caution around schools, buses, and busy drop-off and pick-up areas.

Children can be unpredictable, and school areas will be busy again. A few extra seconds of caution can make a big difference.

Please slow down, stay alert, and help keep our students safe as they return to school.

Please note that herbicide treatment of the Noxious W**d, Red Bartsia, will be occurring the week of August 24. As per the Noxious W**ds Act of Manitoba, Red Bartsia is a Tier 1 Noxious W**d, and must be destroyed. Targeted spot spraying of the weeds on roadsides and other public areas in Town, south of PR229, is done by a licensed applicator with a Health Canada approved pesticide. Signs will be posted in treatment areas indicating when the product is dry and safe to walk on again.

📣 Proclamation Requests Now Being Accepted

The Town of Winnipeg Beach Council has rescinded resolution #2023/116 and will resume consideration and recognition of proclamation requests.

A municipal proclamation is an official, ceremonial declaration by Council recognizing a special day, week, month, event, organization, cause, or community initiative. Proclamations help bring awareness to important causes and recognize the contributions and activities of individuals and organizations in our community.

If you would like Council to consider a proclamation, please submit your request by email to the Town of Winnipeg Beach.
