Cabinets of wonder and curiosity have become a frequent site in front of Winnipeg homes.

Some are simple boxes. Others feature more elaborate designs, looking like treasure chests or the homes they sit in front of. But they are all filled with the same things.

Little Free Libraries, a type of public book exchange, have grown in popularity, adorning schools and yards across Manitoba and the world.

Well it might be wet out there but it’s dry in the library! Why not stop in to read about what it was like to shelter during storms as a pioneer, because there’s darn near every Little House on the Prairie book in the LFL now! And while I’m at it, have you considered cleaning out your basement and making room for some new books by donating your old ones? We’re nearly out of our back stock and books have been flying off the shelves lately.

Well that was something of a week, wasn’t it? Well, in honour of Pride week, which was so rudely interrupted by tornadoes, I’m finally getting to put out Heartstopper, kindly donated by Scholastic by Alice Oseman. It may be a rainy forecast, but the books stayed dry!
