Winnipeg Plan to End Youth Homelessness Agencies who work with youth experiencing homelessness in Winnipeg are collaborating to develop a long term plan to end youth homelessness.

This project is funded in part by the Government of Canada's Homelessness Partnership Strategy. The purpose of the project is to:
i. Build on existing community capacity and increases capacity for collective action: speaking collectively on issues related to youth homelessness
ii. Develop a ‘table of experts’ who can speak to youth homelessness
iii. Mobilize resources toward a common goal
iv. In

crease awareness and understanding of youth homelessness for a range of stakeholders (the public, funders, policy makers, community leaders, community agencies)
v. Put youth homelessness on the public agenda, therefore increasing political support for prevention and intervention
vi. Build strategic relationships with decision-makers and funders
The objectives of the project are to:
i. Develop the Steering Committee for the Plan to End Youth Homelessness so it is representative and resourced to create and form the structure to implement a plan;
ii. Collect and compile the recommendations from previous research on youth homelessness for community revision and review;
iii. Hold a consultative process to gather input from key stakeholders;
iv. Hold a participatory process for people with lived experience of youth homelessness to build leadership and ownership over a Plan to End Youth Homelessness; and
v. Through the achievement of objectives 1-4, develop a community owned and driven Plan to End Youth Homelessness in Winnipeg.
