Incoming pigeon post: Hey guys. So the last few days have been a rollercoaster but we have made it over the hill, and are now coasting. There's some videos and pics of the progress 🐦
So when Honey came in, she had a really infected eye and couldn't fly. I started treating her eye and every day since then it's been getting better. And now almost totally clear.
I didn't realize for the first day and a bit that she wasn't drinking or eating anything, even tho she had access to everything. Once I realized she was losing weight and water fast, we sprung into action. Having to force feed her was a learning experience. But I got up every 4 hours to hand after and feed her and by the second day she had got the idea and I didn't have to anymore. Then progressively she learned again how to eat and drink on her own. And now just with a little coaxing, she is doing it all alone now.
She loves hanging out on my lap and sitting on my hand. I hope Jean takes some lessons and we can all have a happy family 🐦🐦🐈. Also, Honey and Zephyr get along great so far.
Finally I feel like I can relax now thats Honey is pretty much back to baseline to full recovery

Honey update. She is up and moving around and the swelling on her eye has went right now. Some sever bruises on her wing but I think she going to be ok.

Say hello to Honey everyone :) She has detached wing and a really infected looking eye.
I found this sweet one just a little while ago while I was on my way back from picking up "Operation String Foot Recovery" supplies for our park friends. Destiny and timing at it finest. She will be going to the vet this week and getting a full diagnosis.

Here at WPA headquarters, we are putting together a string-foot rescue kit to save our friends from losing their feet due to string foot. We will be out in full force catching, treating and releasing our poor friends who are struggling with this. Funds go towards medical supplies including: scalpels, small scissors, antiseptic gel/spray, styptic powder, veterisyn solution, socks for containment, and any vet bills for if a bird needs an amputation due to progressed stages of string-foot. Thanks so much 🐦
