This is something that your present councillor has not provided for us, and yet something so simple.

If elected, I would like to build a new old age home. As the demand and population grow, there is becoming an increased need for this service. Dignity and respect should be provided for those who have lived here and have given their time and knowledge for us to progress. This is viable through federal and private funding.

If elected, I would fight hard for a better allocation of funds so that we, the people of Transcona, would not have useless/overspending of funds and better service for what we pay for. Taxes are becoming higher and the service for which we pay for are becoming less. Let’s fix that.

If elected, I would like to twin the road on Dugald between Plessis and the Perimeter. As the developments grow, traffic has greatly increased. This would provide better flow and also better service South Transcona.

Hello Transcona
My name is Wally Welechenko and I will be running for city councillor for the Transcona area.
I do live in Transcona, graduated from Murdoch MacKay, and have been here for over Fifty years.
My kids are now raising their kids in Transcona so I have a lot invested here.
I grew up in the Hotel and restaurant industry from a very young age, so learning to run things in a hectic atmosphere became second nature. I graduated from Red River Advertising Art program with awards, venturing out on my own and shortly thereafter started my Clothing company in 1989, manufacturing, dying, printing, selling, and wholesaling, and eventually set up retail stores in Transcona and other locations in Winnipeg. The line was called Wild Thang, which I ran until 2009.
Within this same time frame, I purchased and ran the Concession restaurant in Falcon Lake for 17 years, Danced with The Rusalka Ukrainian Dance Ensemble for over 25 years, started a building and renovating company, a Lawn Care Company called Green Key which only services Transcona, and most recently while things were coming to a slow pace with COVID, I took it in another direction and started another Restaurant in Steep Rock MB called Gr**go Loco’s.
I am running for councillor for Transcona because I have a strong work ethic and know that I can get things done. I have lived here long enough to know that there has to be and is better service than what we receive.
Everybody that runs for some elected position, always talks about change.
The reality is that you don’t need to change things, you need to fix things, improve the direction things need to go and give people a better quality of life. I know that I can take you in that direction .
