Two people are greeting each other with a clasped handshake: one person uses a prosthetic leg and the other is seated in a wheelchair. The text reads, “National Accessibility Week, May 31 to June 6, 2026” and “Together, let’s build a more accessible and inclusive Canada.” The visual ends with the Canada Wordmark.

This month, we honour and celebrate the diverse histories, cultures and achievements of First Nations, Inuit and Métis.

As we approach its 25th anniversary, we spotlight the National Aboriginal Veterans Monument.

The richly symbolic sculpture represents the stories of thousands of First Nations, Inuit and Métis men and women who have played a decisive role in defending Canada.

Great chart to print!

With soaring temperatures, it’s crucial to understand how heat stroke can strike.

When your body can’t cool down effectively, it leads to a dangerous rise in body temperature, causing heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

🌞How Heat Stroke Happens:

🥵 Prolonged exposure to extreme heat
💪 Overexerting yourself in hot weather
🥵 Dehydration, which limits your body’s ability to regulate temperature

🌞Prevent Heat Stroke:

✅ Hydrate – Drink plenty of water throughout the day
👕 Dress Light – Wear loose, breathable clothing
⛱️ Seek Shade – Avoid direct sun for long periods
🛑 Avoid Strenuous Activity – Especially during peak heat

🌞Know the signs:

🥵High body temperature
😶Confusion,
🤢Nausea
🥴Dizziness

If you or someone else experiences these symptoms, seek medical help immediately.

Let’s keep cool and stay safe this summer! 😎
