Living Prairie Museum is a unique urban nature preserve that protects endangered tall grass prairie. The site has walking trails and an interpretive centre.

Events and education programs are held year-round.

Listen up!
Drop-in anytime 11am-4pm this Saturday Oct 10! You can visit the prairie and we will also have some special activities all about wolves, coyotes, and foxes in Manitoba!

Visits to the Interpretive Centre are always free.
- Explore artifacts and information
- Make a pin of your favourite canine
- Practice your wolf howl and learn how wild dogs communicate
- Learn how to live safely with coyotes in the city

This Saturday at Living Prairie Museum, drop-in anytime 11am-4pm to learn more about our bison relatives on the prairie.

Explore the role of bison / buffalo on the prairie, then get creative making beads from clay and prairie seeds. Just as bison carry seeds in their fur, your beads will carry seeds to spread prairie plants to new places!

Always free. Come anytime. Stay as long as you like!

Yes! The Interpretive Centre is open on Saturdays with a new drop-in activity/display each week! Pick one or come for all of them. Free as always.

To celebrate Waste Reduction Week, Green Action Centre will be here on Oct 24th to help you create upcycled birdfeeders for your yard!

P.S. Our trails are open every day and the prairie is really giving off an incredible fall glow.

NATURE JOURNALING DROP-IN

Get up close to the patterns in a paper wasp nest, or take in the big picture of tall grasses in the breeze! Find your own way to observe and make a record of your observations using our creative prompts. Its all at our Nature Journalling drop in.
Sat Sept 26, 10AM to 4PM.

Join us this Saturday to learn about animal migration! Try to navigate to your winter habitat in a migration dice game!

The Friends of the Living Prairie Museum is a non-profit community organization that supports The Living Prairie Museum in fulfilling its mission through fundraising, promotion, and maintenance of the preserve.

Calling all grade 6-8 educators!
We are pleased to announce a new program for middle years students: Our Prairie.

You will get funding for 3 trips throughout the school year to Living Prairie Museum. Students will participate in outdoor experiential learning with LPM staff, and will engage with Indigenous educators for land-based learning. Participating classes will also complete an action project related to what students learn on their trips.

Who Is Eligible: Grade 6, 7, or 8 classrooms located in Winnipeg.
