Goals & Objectives
•To be a support group for parents, caregivers and families of children with Down Syndrome.
•To build and maintain a communications network from which members can access current, comprehensive information and the latest developments.
•To enhance public awareness and understanding of Down syndrome.
•To promote, encourage and support research into Down syndrome and related condit

ions.
•To develop support services and projects which benefit individuals with Down syndrome.
•To provide an opportunity for individuals with Down syndrome to express their views and
concerns and to participate in the direction of the Society.
•To provide forums for the exchange of information and ideas between parents and professionals. The Manitoba Down Syndrome Society is a non-profit organization operated by volunteers

We're putting together a Parent Panel for See Me Beautiful 2026 and looking for voices who have navigated the journey of literacy and learning with their child. This is your chance to share what you've learned, what you wish you'd known, and what's made a difference.

💙 A huge thank you to Red River Co-op for their generous donation of $2,000 in gift cards to support our New Parent Packages! 🎁

These packages are provided to hospitals across Manitoba to be given to new parents of babies born with Down syndrome. Inside, families will find a one-year free MDSS membership along with information about our programs and supports — helping them feel welcomed and connected right from the start.

MDSS is partnering with the Manitoba Advocate for Children and Youth (MACY) for a free virtual workshop designed to empower parents, caregivers, and educators of children with Down syndrome. 💛

Join us to learn about:
✅ The rights of children and youth under the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child
🤝 How MACY can support your family through individual advocacy, reviews, investigations, and more
💬 A live Q&A with a MACY Advocacy Officer
