💫June is a busy month of celebration, learning, and reflection across Canada.
At SWFIC, we recognize the many communities, cultures, and experiences that help make our neighbourhoods stronger and more welcoming for everyone. As a family resource centre, we value opportunities to learn from one another, celebrate diversity, and build connections within our community.
Throughout June, we acknowledge:
👉National Indigenous History Month
👉Italian Heritage Month
👉Filipino Heritage Month
👉Portuguese Heritage Month
👉The launch of Pride Season
We also recognize:
👉National Indigenous Peoples Day (June 21)
👉Canadian Multiculturalism Day (June 27)
As we enjoy the start of summer, we invite families, caregivers, children, seniors, and community members to celebrate the many stories, traditions, and perspectives that enrich our communities.
📌Do you have a story, family tradition, or cultural experience connected to one of these celebrations? We would love to learn from our community and share diverse voices throughout the month.
📧Send us a DM or email [email protected] to tell us about your experience. Selected stories may be featured in our social media channels or newsletter.

On Thursday, families at Stay & Play enjoyed story time with Karla and let their imaginations run wild through creative crafts. Our Mindful Munchkins also explored ways to stay calm and created sensory bags to support self-regulation.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for another week of learning, connection, and fun! ✨
