Westview School Parent Council

Westview School Parent Council We are a committed group of individuals whose purpose is to foster the well-being and effectiveness of our school community and enhance student learning.

Westview School opened its doors in 1953. The teaching staff consists of the principal, classroom teachers, specialists in libray, music and physical education, a resource teacher, a guidance counsellor and many support staff. The size of the staff strongly encourages the collaborative approach. Conversely, the small population also helps students feel a sense of belonging to a school family. The

school also houses the Westview Daycare which includes a "Before and After" Program. Many of the children who currently attend Westview School take part in this program. This is a definite benefit as the childcare workers often collaborate with the teachers to plan what is best for the children.

All RETSD schools and buildings will close tomorrow and Thursday due to weather conditions. This includes in school childcare centres. Staff are not to report to work.
Schools will reopen Monday, April 18th for normal operation.

On March 18, Friday I will be dropping off 542 books 📚 To Transcona Scool division.

When we heard on the news about the fire at Westview school in Transcona it really touched home for myself and my family.

My son Noah Kasprick who is 10 years old and my older son Gavin Kasprick both attended west view school. We lived in Transcona for 10 years and then moved out to Oakbank and have been out here for 3 years.

We wanted to help. My son donated about 60 books 📚 of his own and the rest of the books all came from our amazing community in Oakbank. I made a post about and everyone in the community donated so many books so children will have books to read. I'm so overwhelmed with joy of our community and very excited to drop off all the books. My happy story to share.
