MICEC is where anyone can learn about Indigenous peoples, cultures and languages in Manitoba. MICEC has 3 program areas: The People's Library, The Heritage Collection and the Community Connections Program. THE PEOPLE'S LIBRARY
The People’s Library consists of more than 14,000 books, resource materials and recordings and continues to grow every year. Membership provides access to our library servi
ces which include: access to the collection, borrowing privileges, photocopying, public access computers and free WIFI. HERITAGE COLLECTION
The Heritage Collection at MICEC includes thousands of photos, paintings, drawings, sculptures, artifacts, regalia, clothing, crafts, medicines, as well as audio and video recordings. The collection is more than objects to us, we see and learn from the stories left by artists, ancestors and relatives every day. The Heritage Collection connects us to people and the stories they have shared with us through their art and knowledges. COMMUNITY CONNECTION PROGRAM
The Community Connection Program provides educational and learning opportunities including community language tables, crafting classes and community spaces, activities, lectures, workshops, presentations, tours and displays.
