As Israel’s genocidal assault on Gaza continues into its horrific third month, it is vital for the Free Palestine movement to reflect on our experiences and assess our strategies. The strength of our movement in the coming weeks will influence the timeline and terms of a ceasefire, and determine the state of our struggle on the other side of the mass upsurge of solidarity.

In Canada, millions have been mobilizing in the streets every weekend. Yet the federal government refuses to call for a ceasefire, let alone cut ties with the Israeli apartheid state. Banks, businesses, and civil society institutions continue to support, fund, and arm Israel. How can our local movement harness the energy of the moment in order to break this stalemate? How do we build a movement that goes beyond bringing people out for demonstrations, and puts real political and economic pressure on governments and the capitalist class at large?

This panel discussion brings together organizers and intellectuals engaged in the Free Palestine movement on Treaty One Territory. Speakers will discuss the state of the movement in local and international contexts, explore movement strategies and organizational approaches to the struggle for Palestinian liberation, and propose next steps to turn our visions of justice and freedom into reality.

This Human Rights Day, we rallied for Palestinian human rights inside the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. We held a die-in lasting 64 minutes, one minute for each day of Israel's genocidal assault on the people of Gaza.

Today marks the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. As the UN was drafting this "universal" declaration, it was simultaneously developing its partition plan for Palestine, which laid the ground for the Nakba and the Israeli apartheid state.

The UN has declared this year's theme as Freedom, Equality and Justice for All. So we ask: What about Freedom, Equality and Justice for Palestinians?

Rally for Palestinian Human Rights!

This Sunday is Human Rights Day, marking the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Israel's current genocidal attack on the people of Gaza is just the latest assault following 75 years of colonial occupation, ethnic cleansing, and systematic human rights abuses.

The UN has declared this year's theme as Freedom, Equality and Justice for All. So we ask: What about Freedom, Equality and Justice for Palestinians?
