Families across Canada: your child’s experience of exclusion matters.

The National Exclusion Tracker (NET), created by Family Support Institute of BC and Inclusive Education Canada, helps families document and track exclusion experienced by children and youth with disabilities and/or complex learning needs in K–12 education and child care.

Exclusion can look like being sent home, left out of activities or field trips, excluded from extracurriculars, or denied child care access. If your child or youth feels excluded, it counts.

Please complete the survey each time an experience of exclusion occurs.

Saving Circle is an eight-week course, open to Manitobans with disabilities who receive Employment Income Assistance (EIA).

Our instructor provides assistance in developing budget strategies, goal setting and money management skills. Participants’ savings are matched up to a maximum of $250. For example, if someone saves $250, we'll provide a $750 match, giving a total of $1,000 to use towards things critical to independence, health and well-being.

Sharing on behalf of the Chāpān Games and Teachings organizers 🧡

September is the month we commemorate the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day. We sit with the truth of the devastating violence & lasting effects of residential schools.

We honour the lives lost and forever changed. We witness the resilience of survivors. And we try to embody what it means to move forward together. Both by acknowledging the truth and participating in reconciliation by creating spaces for healing, connection and change.

We think the Kokums from the Kokums Circle say it best: “Reconciliation is about brothers and sisters across cultures. It’s about all cultures coming together, learning from one another, and creating change so everyone belongs.”

Come together with us on Saturday, September 19th for the 3rd Annual Chāpān Games and Teachings. Chāpān Games and Teachings is free, all-ages event where generations connect. It focuses on healing through the medicine of laughter and having fun with traditional Indigenous games, free food, singing, dancing, drag, and so much more.
