Oral History Centre The OHC provides workshop programming, consultation, training, and support for oral history research.

The Oral History Centre at the University of Winnipeg is a national leader and global innovator in developing excellence in oral history teaching, research, and collaborative community development. In so doing, the Oral History Centre promotes oral history as a means of democratizing history and thus of working towards social justice and human rights in a globalizing world.

Join us as we host Dr. Janis Thiessen for a workshop on oral history methodology. The workshop will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026 from 12:00 to 1:30 pm on Zoom Webinars.

Dr. Thiessen will provide an overview of oral history methodology that addresses a number of crucial questions, including: What is oral history? When should scholars use this methodology (and when should it be avoided)? How should an oral history be conducted? How should archived oral histories be used and interpreted?

The University of Winnipeg Archives is seeking candidates for a Two-Spirit Archives Technician.

UW Archives is hiring a Two-Spirit Archives Technician!

For 15-weeks starting May 19, the position will be working to improve the accessibility and discoverability of collections within the Two-Spirit Archives according to archival standards for Indigenous and 2SLGBTQIA+ records.
