This coming Sunday is Pentecost!
As the day approaches, we are reflecting on the arrival of the Holy Spirit upon Jesus' followers.
Often called the birth of the Church, Pentecost holds rich roots, connecting directly to the Old Testament Feast of the First Fruits and the Jewish celebration of the Torah.
In some church calendars, this sacred season guides the community's journey all the way until Advent.

May 5th is Red Dress Day, the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people (MMIWG2S+).
What began as an art installation by Métis artist Jaime Black has grown into a national movement. The empty red dresses you see hanging in our communities represent the thousands of Indigenous people who should be here today but have been lost to violence. They are symbols of both a heartbreaking absence and the enduring resilience of Indigenous families and survivors.
Today, we invite you to take time for reflection and self-education. Our team has curated a collection of resources to help you deepen your understanding of this crisis and the path toward justice.

Visit commonword.ca/go/3877 to find the collection.
