The View Park on Old Post Road in Grand Pré provides a panoramic view of the entire Landscape of Grand Pré World Heritage Site, with stunning views over the dykelands, the Minas Basin, and Cape Blomidon, from which Mi’kmaw tradition holds that Kluskap (Glooscap) kept a watchful eye over his people.

Landscape of Grand Pré Incorporated has hired two heritage interpreters to help raise awareness of the Landscape of Grand Pré UNESCO World Heritage Site. Eva and Ty will be at the View Park daily from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. from June 20 to August 7, 2026.

The View Park is located at 109-111, Old Post Road in Grand Pré. When not at the View Park, you will find the heritage interpreters at the Grand-Pré National Historic Site Visitor Centre, 2205 Grand Pré Road. As you enjoy the summer season in the Annapolis Valley, why not take the time to meet Eva and Ty and learn more about the rich history of this outstanding landscape. The statue of Evangeline was erected in 1920 in celebration of the success of; "A Tale of Acadie,” first published in 1847, a poem written by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

Millions of people were drawn to the story of a young Acadian couple from the village of Grand-Pré, Evangeline Bellefontaine and Gabriel Lajeunesse, who were separated by the events of the Deportation, followed by a life-time of searching to be reunited. Evangeline became a symbol of the Deportation and the perseverance of the Acadian people.

Strategy for the Management and Conservation of the Archaeological Heritage

The archaeological heritage of the Landscape of Grand Pré World Heritage Site is a key element of its national and international significance. Landscape of Grand Pré Inc. has recently approved a revised archaeological strategy to create a framework to manage the archaeological heritage of the Landscape. This collaboration aims to ensure the effective protection, conservation, and monitoring of archaeological heritage of the property inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 2012.

Landscape of Grand Pré Inc. would like to remind landowners that financial support is available for conducting archaeological assessments in the Landscape and its buffer zone.

The farmers work in spring becomes the colourful patchwork quilt that blankets the Landscape of Grand Pré UNESCO World Heritage Site. 🚜💚

Located just east of the town of Wolfville, Nova Scotia and adjacent to the Grand-Pré National Historic Site, our vineyards are situated on a bluff overlooking the historic Acadian dykelands.

We're open for 2026 beginning May 16th.

Whether you’re revisiting a favourite place or discovering Grand-Pré for the first time, we’re excited to welcome you.

The Visitor Centre is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Come explore the exhibits, browse the gift shop, or chat with our team about the remarkable history of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

As you plan your visit, please remember:
🐶 Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash at all times.
🚫 Recreational drone use and metal detecting are strictly prohibited, as they can disturb the site and damage its cultural heritage.
