Traffic concerns, including vehicle volume and speed, are among the most common issues raised by residents to Council and Staff. This is why we have launched the Wolfville Safer Streets Initiative.
As part of this project, we wanted to capture a baseline understanding of current feelings towards street safety and speed, so a survey was launched on Wolfville Blooms, our Town’s engagement platform.
The survey results are now available and they identify where people are noticing speeding, crosswalk safety issues, and where other issues such as low visibility or high volumes of traffic are occurring.
At the same time as we were gathering resident feedback with the survey, volunteer households throughout the Town were hosting Telraam devices. Telraam devices are used for traffic counting and to collect data on speed, volume and mode of transportation.
