🚲E-Bikes & E-Scooters in Wynyard - know before you go! 🛴

The Town would like to share SGI’s Rules & Regulations surrounding these types of bikes and scooters as a reminder & educational tool for our residents!

A quick guide to keeping it safe & legal:

E-Bikes & E-Scooters:
🚦Must be driven according to the Traffic Safety Act.
🚫DO NOT operate under the influence of alcohol or drugs
🧾No Registration is required
⛑️Helmets are REQUIRED at all times while operating.

🚲E-Bikes
⚡️Motor must be no larger than 500 Watts
🚫Cannot Exceed 32 Km/h (20 mph)
⚠️Age Restriction: 14 Years or older

🛴E-Scooters
⚠️Wynyard DOES NOT have an e-scooter bylaw in place, therefore driving an e-scooter is ILLEGAL if its not on your own private property.
⚠️Age Restriction: 16 Years or older

❗️Please make sure to review these rules of operation with your kids or anyone who may be operating these e-bikes & e-scooters in your household!❗️

If you haven’t paid your 2026 property taxes yet, there’s still time to save!

Pay on or before August 31, 2026 and receive a 5% discount on the municipal portion of your taxes.

If you miss the August deadline, you can still receive a 4% discount by paying in September.

‼️The final deadline to pay 2026 taxes is December 31, 2026‼️
