We thought we would have only one bat, Freddie, this year. Freddie was donated by the gifted artist, Jerry Gardner. Jerry visits often and saw the bats arrive in the attic annually. We were incorrect, however. One bat flew in today and departed, we hope it finds a new place to live.

Ken took a temporary leave to work at a friends. He has now resumed his work at the lodge. The old girl is a flutter with the 1930 pink flamingo wallpaper. We are looking forward to its completion.

It is official: we passed our final electrical inspection and we are moving in. For the upper floor, we have detailing work to complete, including hanging doors, baseboard and window frame, installing live edge counter tops, and finishing the washroom. We are happy to finally be home.

As we step into a new year, we're invigorated and inspired to reconnect with you after a brief respite. Tonight, we're celebrating the dawn of new possibilities and the incredible journey that has led us to this moment. We're thrilled to unveil Alexandra's Rose, the breathtaking mascot of Alexandra's Muddy Rose art studio, which has finally found its home after four years in storage, a testament to perseverance and dedication. As a potter, I, Shirley, am proud to see Ken's vision come to life, and not just because I'm inspired by his unwavering commitment. We're on the threshold of a significant milestone, with our move-in date imminent, pending a final electrical inspection, because safety is paramount. We're eager to share our progress with you and grateful for your ongoing support, which has been the driving force behind our journey. Here's to a transformative 2026, and by transformative, I mean we're excited to see the incredible impact we can make together, and, of course, we hope the coffee machine works. Especially after a new years of drinking and celebration. Ken and I looking forward to sharing more in the next few days.

Ken took a break from the bathroom renovation as the drywall mud was drying, because, let's be real, watching it dry is not very thrilling. He is now working on the live edge fir detail work, which is exciting. It will add a lodge feel to the space.
