June at a Glance

Can you believe we are into the final month of the school year? June is a busy month with field trips, milestones, assessments, and end-of-year fun.

Important Note About Permission Forms:
With class trips on the horizon, permission forms will be heading home in backpacks very soon. Please keep a close eye out for them so we can get them signed and returned quickly.
We owe a bit of a warning to grade 5 families as they will receive additional permission forms as our students gear up for their class trip and visit to MGEC. Thank you in advance for your patience and for keeping those signing pens ready.

It’s time for a little spring cleaning!

Our lost and found is filling up quickly, and students are being encouraged to stop by and check for any missing items. We would also appreciate families taking a moment to ask their child if anything may belong to them.

Thank you for helping us reunite these items with their owners before the pile grows any bigger!

🚨PLEASE NOTE🚨

Daphne’s bus is running approximately 30 minutes late due to a mechanical issue.

Our playground is a shared space that we’re proud to offer our students and community members. Recently, a small bench intended for our Pre-Primary students (ages 4–5) was moved and wedged between two trees. This is not the first time our Pre-Primary space has been impacted.

While this may have seemed harmless at the time, these items are purposefully placed to support safe, age-appropriate play for our youngest learners.

We’re aware of how this incident happened and ask that it not occur again. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in respecting the space and helping us keep it safe, welcoming, and ready for all children.

Thank you for your support.

Grade 3 Provincial LM3 Assessments will take place on May 13, 14, 20, and 21.

Students will complete sessions in literacy and mathematics over these dates. The focus is on demonstrating what they already know through their regular classroom learning.

Families can support by ensuring students arrive on time, are well-rested, and ready for the day. Maintaining strong attendance leading up to the assessments is also important to ensure students are familiar with routines and confident in their learning.

We have also created a little game on our school site that can help students practice at home. Check it out here: https://sites.google.com/gnspes.ca/carletonconsolidated/hooties-lm3-prep
