Do you know that we have toddler programs at our Barrington, Yarmouth, Lockeport, and Shelburne libraries? Bring your children who are 5 and younger to play or listen to stories at the library!

- Community Play Group in Barrington meet every Thursday from 10 to 11 am.
- Story Time in Yarmouth meet every Thursday from 10 to 11 am.
- Community Play Group in Lockeport meets on June 12 and 26 from 9:30 to 10:30 am.
- Family Fridays in Shelburne meet on Fridays from 10:30 to 12 pm.

Western Counties Regional Library has Assistive Listening Devices for staff to use when communicating with patrons.

Do you have a hard time hearing what the library clerk is saying? If so, request to use an Assistive Listening Device. The library clerk will give you a set of headphones to wear and speak into the microphone of our Assistive Listening Device.

Our Assistive Listening Devices are for one-on-one conversations with our staff while they help you.

Join Ashley Burke for a presentation on cybersecurity at the Clare library. Learn what happens when your data is stolen, how to spot scams, and how to keep your information safe.

Ashley is a cybersecurity professional with over four years of experience. She works to help organizations understand and manage digital risks. This program is in English and is on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 from 6 to 7 pm.

Join us at the Pubnico library to learn about emergency preparedness. On Tuesday, June 16, 2026 from 3 to 4 pm, Wendy from the Department of Emergency Management will be here to discuss:
- Using the NS Alert app to stay informed
- Importance of a home emergency plan and kit
- Tips for before, during, and after a wildfire
- Water conservation techniques
This program will be presented in English only.

The Yarmouth library is partially closed to the public on Monday, June 15, 2026 due to construction. We are replacing our circulation desk to make the library more accessible.

While the branch is closed, our foyer is open for the following tasks:
• Picking up items on hold
• Using Princh for mobile printing
• Using our fax machine

The sidewalk beside the parking lot at the Yarmouth library is under construction. It will be unavailable for the month of June 2026. The sidewalk leading to the library from the road is open but is uneven. People with mobility aids may find it more difficult to traverse.

The construction is being done to improve accessibility at the library. We apologize for any inconvenience during this time.
