Ok I almost want to take back what I said in my last post cause today’s weather is actually sooo lovely and mild. I think it may have been a colder day than today when I took these photos with this cutie couple friends of mine. guys…it’s getting colder outside and I’m starting to freak out. I haven’t had a toddler in the winter yet so wondering how others have survived? We went to play group for the first time this morning and it was awesome 👍any other recommendations?

the sweetest little family came to a workshop the other day and they did amazing considering there were about eight cameras pointed at them all at once. if you’re nervous about being in front of a camera, I totally get it. but honestly, all you have to do to look amazing and natural are little actions like nursing your baby or brushing their hair or sniffing their head. Doesn’t sound too hard right? for a few seconds you’ll get lost in their sweet scent and that’s when I’ll take the picture 😉

not sure if your little one will make it through a photo session? simply make the session about their favourite things (in this case parks, trucks, and popsicles!) and you’ll all have a great time while being documented. it’s rarely the poses but rather the interactions that make family sessions so special and I keep going back to this little family’s photos because it shows just that. Iately i’ve been reflecting on my past work and how I can tell my clients stories better and i keep coming back to the word slow. Slow down… I think it means be present. take less photos, be more intentional, and help clients be present with each other. What does slowing down look like for you?
