PSAC North is proud to announce our affiliation with the Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions!

More than 1,300 nurses in the Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut represented by the Public Service Alliance of Canada are now part of Canada’s largest nursing organization and the recognized national voice advocating for nurses and high-quality public health care.

Nursing members will now have access to even more tools and resources to help them thrive in their workplaces and communities, and the valuable perspective of frontline workers in the North will be included in CFNU’s evidence-based research and advocacy initiatives;

More details on this agreement will be released in the coming weeks. In the meantime, nursing members are invited to RSVP to attend upcoming Hybrid Town Hall meetings in each territory.

The NTFL is heartbroken by the confirmation of the loss of three lives in the crash of the Bird Dog aircraft that was responding to wildfires west of Fort Simpson, NT. Our deepest condolences go out to the families and friends of those lost.

It’s always a pleasure to meet with Sara-Jayne Dempster, President of Northern Territories Federation of Labour, to discuss issues that matter to their 10,000+ affiliated members across the NWT and Nunavut.

NTFL stands up for all workers across the territory, unionized or not — and so it’s very important to me to always check in on what they are hearing from workers across the north.
