The CMPA has partnered with legendary producer Don Carmody to launch the CMPA Don Carmody International Co-Production Mentorship Program!

Supported by a generous $100,000 commitment from Don Carmody, this initiative honours his incredible five-decade legacy of bridging Hollywood and Canada to bring over $2B USD in production north of the border. We’re thrilled to partner with Don Carmody as he invests in the next generation of Canadian producers!

Because global partnerships are more important than ever to getting projects financed and seen around the world, this program will help fund one producer annually for a 20-week paid international co-production placement, giving emerging talent the hands-on experience they need to thrive in the global marketplace. 🌍

Applications are now open for CMPA member companies to apply with an emerging producer. The deadline to apply is July 10, 2026. Learn more about our mentorship programs and eligibility at cmpa.ca/mentorship

In the Northwest Territories, summer filming comes with a kind of light you have to see to believe.

Located far north on the Earth’s parallel, the NWT experiences the midnight sun up to 24 hours of daylight in summer. Giving productions extended shooting windows, consistent natural light, and cinematic golden hour that lasts all night.

Lights. Camera. Winter.
Looking for a true winter backdrop? The Northwest Territories is a natural winter wonderland; Perfect for film and TV projects that need authentic snow and cold-weather conditions.

With colder temperatures up to 7 months of the year, the NWT offers reliable winter filming windows you can count on. Add to that our dry climate and low precipitation, and you’ll find ideal, stable filming conditions—without the heavy, wet snow found elsewhere.

From endless snowy landscapes to crisp, clear winter light, the Northwest Territories can bring your winter story to life.

Going to the movies isn't about watching a story, it's about feeling something together 🍿.

From laughter in a packed theatre, to quiet moments that stay with you long after the credits roll. This is what movies mean to us.

What does going to the movies mean to you? 🎬
———————————————————————-
