Today Benny and Lance worked with us to help Fred clean up his encampment site. Fred's canvas tent and wood stove was stolen when we arrived which was sad to see, but he is moving into transitional housing and we are proud of him and excited for his next steps!

This week we are officially beginning the Health Appointment Support Program. We can support people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to get to and from their health appointments from Monday - Thursday between 8:30 am - 3:30 pm (final appointment we can take is at 2:30 pm). We've extended our 50/50 raffle draw date from today July 10th to September 29th at 5 pm, so we can reach our prize goal! We've raised $6,700, and our prize is currently at $3,350 - let's reach $20,000 for our prize goal!

All raffle proceeds will go towards our new Yellowknife Street Support Program, where we help people in need with medical appointments, getting food and other items, and advocating for them.

Today Bella helped to hand out food to our friends on the street. Last week we handed out lots of fresh blueberries in ziplock bags. When we get access to a kitchen we are planning to be able to deliver homemade meals because we know how important a healthy and delicious meal is for everyone. Thank you so much to Bella and all the other helpers who have helped us to hand out food over the last few months. And thank you to Carly for donating two grocery store gift cards, which we've used to buy food and hand out. And thank you to everyone else who has supported our organization in other ways.

Everyone in these photos has consented to us posting them on our page, Our staff and helpers have good relationships with our clients and make sure everyone is in a good place to consent if they are going to be in a photo. And many of our clients are excited to see all the photos as well!

Thanks to the CSRA for donating a bunch of kits for us to hand out to our friends on the street, meant for areas dealing with heavy smoke. The kits include a N95 mask, a protein bar, bandages, and other items. Brenda and Chris handed out the kits yesterday and a lot of people were really grateful to get them!

The YK Street Support Network provided support to the Fort Simpson wildfire evacuees this past week in Yellowknife. Łı́ı́dlı̨ı̨ Kų́ę́ First Nation Sub-Chief Josanne Kenny shared with us what was needed for evacuees, and with funding from the United Way Northwest Territories, we're happy to be able to support.
