🗑️ Garbage, recycling and organics collection will continue on its regular schedule.

The landfill will be closed Monday, September 7 and will reopen Tuesday, September 8.

🚸 Crosswalk Safety is Everyone’s Responsibility 🚸

Whether you’re walking or driving, we all play a part in keeping crosswalks safe.

👣 Pedestrians: Cross only at marked areas, make sure drivers see you, and avoid distractions.

🚗 Drivers: Always stop for pedestrians, give them space, and never block crosswalks.

Together, we can make Yorkton’s streets safer for everyone.

⭐ Regular Council Meeting Recap — August 31, 2026

The August 31 meeting was held at the Gallagher Centre while Council Chambers are under renovation.

Highlights from the meeting included:

✔️ Council approving the appointment of Michael Buchholzer to the Environmental Committee for the remainder of 2026

✔️ Council receiving and filing a presentation from the Yorkton Arts Council about the YAC Concert Series and Sunflower Art and Craft Market

✔️ Council receiving and filing a presentation from Medavie Health Services West about the Mobile Integrated Health Program serving Yorkton and the surrounding area

✔️ Council approving public notice for the Downtown and West Broadway Corridor Redevelopment Plan

✔️ Council approving the 2025 Audited Financial Statements

✔️ Council approving the 2025 Municipal Public Accounts

✔️ Council approving the Yorkton Transit Services contract with SaskAbilities, supporting the move toward on-demand transit in 2027

Council Chambers at City Hall is currently undergoing renovations. During this time, Regular City Council Meetings will be held at the Gallagher Centre Convention Centre.

Meetings will continue to be held at their regularly scheduled time and will be streamed online at: calendar.yorkton.ca/meetings

Please note that meetings held at this temporary location will not be broadcast on Access Communications cable. As always, members of the public are welcome to attend in person.

There’s still time to share your feedback on Yorkton’s water system!

The City of Yorkton’s water survey has been extended until September 6, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.

Yorkton residents who complete the survey can be entered for a chance to win one of three $100 Visa gift cards.
